Project FRaME
Using Feedback, Reflection, and Multimedia
to Teach Evidence-Based Practices for Effective Classroom Management

Project Activities: Through this project the research team will iteratively develop and pilot test a multimedia, multicomponent instructional approach for use in teacher preparation coursework to support teacher candidates’ knowledge and implementation of evidence-based classroom management practices

FRaME Components:

1. Multimedia using CAPs
Content acquisition podcasts CAPs are short, multimedia vignettes intended to provide instruction to a professional audience. All CAPs use rich images, occasional onscreen text, and clear narration together to deliver a cohesive instructional product. (Read more and see examples  https://tedcec.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Content_Acquisition_Podcasts.pdf)

2. Reflection through Video Analysis
Video analysis is a cyclical process intended for professional growth. During this process teachers and teacher candidates record their own teaching (ideally in authentic settings), (2) review their video evidence in order to self-evaluate, (3) reflect on their choices, and then (4) revise their teaching in order to improve the educational experiences for their students. (See sample reflection Matrix Tools www.trackstudentlearning.weebly.com)

3. Feedback using CT Scan
The Classroom Teaching (CT) Scan is a real-time, low-inference observation tool that can be used in flexible ways to document the instructional m
oves of a teacher during a lesson and provides concrete data for analysis. Data from the CT Scan can be used
for self-reflection or to provide performance feedback. (See an Introduction https://vimeo.com/349115687)
